Former Palestinian Authority minister Sufian Abu Zaida said talks between Israel and Hamas had been nearing a deal for four Israeli hostages held in Gaza, alongside efforts for relief, in the weeks before the October 7, 2023 attack. He said he would reveal, in an upcoming TV interview, a message that Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar had asked him to convey to Israel shortly before the attack.
