GDACS recorded several green-level (minor) earthquakes on September 21, 2026, including a magnitude 4.5 quake in Japan potentially affecting 130,000 people within 100km, a magnitude 5.2 quake in the Philippines potentially affecting 40,000 people, a magnitude 4.5 quake in Colombia potentially affecting 2.9 million people, a magnitude 5.0 quake near the South Sandwich Islands with no people affected, and a magnitude 4.5 quake southeast of Honshu, Japan, also with no people affected. None of these events have been reported to cause damage or casualties.
