An Argentine judge charged seven Iranians and one Lebanese national, in absentia, in connection with the 1994 bombing of the AMIA Jewish community center in Buenos Aires that killed 85 people. The Iranian defendants held high-ranking government positions at the time, while the Lebanese suspect was identified as a Hezbollah member; the charges could pave the way for a trial over one of the deadliest antisemitic attacks outside Israel.
