NASA successfully powered up the 300-megapixel infrared camera aboard its Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope, which is designed to capture vast swaths of the cosmos with sharpness comparable to Hubble. The telescope's planet-hunting coronagraph instrument is also functioning as expected, moving Roman closer to beginning full science operations in 2027.
