Tropical Storm Fay regained tropical storm status in the North Atlantic, located about 935 miles west-southwest of the Azores with maximum sustained winds of about 40 mph and a minimum central pressure of 1010 mb as of early September 24. The storm was moving west-southwest at roughly 8-9 mph, with the National Hurricane Center noting continued convective organization. The Atlantic Tropical Weather Outlook also flagged a separate area of low pressure near the Cabo Verde Islands being monitored for potential development, as the basin remains active.
