GDACS issued a green notification for Tropical Cyclone Surigae, active in the northwest Pacific from September 23-24 with maximum wind speeds of 176 km/h. The storm affected Japan, with an estimated 1.343 million people exposed to Category 1 (120 km/h) or higher wind speeds.
