Tesla held an event at its new Semi factory next to Gigafactory Nevada to mark the truck's move into volume production as of April 2026, nearly a decade after it was first unveiled in 2017. The company says the new facility can build up to 50,000 trucks annually, or roughly 1,000 per week. The event was aimed at reassuring customers and investors that years of delays are over, as Tesla seeks to establish the Semi as a serious entrant in the heavy-duty trucking market.
