Russia struck Kyiv repeatedly overnight September 23-24 with Zircon and Iskander missiles alongside roughly 282 drones across 13 locations, part of a broader wave that also hit Odesa oblast. The attacks killed at least two people and wounded eight, destroyed a Nova Poshta branch and sorting depot, a jewellery company, and a textile factory, damaged a maternity hospital (where a baby was born in a shelter during the strike) and a 120-year-old historic church, and destroyed data centers that knocked out internet service for multiple Kyiv providers. A 65-year-old man also died of a suspected stress-induced heart attack while sheltering during the attack, and bomb disposal teams removed Iskander-M missile debris found in the city. The strikes forced telecom providers into emergency repair efforts to restore services, and it remained unclear when destroyed data infrastructure, including at hosting provider MiroHost, would be back online. The scale of the barrage underscored Russia's continued targeting of Ukrainian civilian and digital infrastructure in the capital.
