Hurricane Odalys continued to strengthen on Thursday, September 24, as it moved east-northeastward over the open eastern Pacific about 1,010 miles west-southwest of the southern tip of Baja California. As of 8 p.m. PDT the storm had maximum sustained winds of about 110 mph and a minimum central pressure of 966 mb, with satellite imagery showing a ragged eye embedded in deep convection. GDACS classified it as a green-level tropical cyclone with no significant population impact estimated. The National Hurricane Center issued a series of advisories, discussions and wind-probability updates through early Friday morning, but the storm remains far from land and is not currently threatening any coastline.
