A Washington federal court has ordered James 'Archbox' Williams, a former moderator of the r/SwitchPirates subreddit, to pay Nintendo $4.5 million in damages after he ignored a lawsuit the company filed in October 2025. Nintendo had accused Williams of running pirate shops that illegally decrypted and distributed Switch games. US District Judge Lauren King issued the default judgment after Williams failed to respond to the suit, according to a September 25 TorrentFreak report. The ruling continues Nintendo's aggressive legal campaign against piracy operations targeting its consoles.
