The New Caledonia region meanwhile experienced a continued aftershock sequence with four additional earthquakes measured at magnitudes 4.7–4.9 between 08:54 and 10:21 UTC on September 26, each at 10 km depth, with roughly 2,000 people estimated within 100 km of each quake. All were classified as low-severity green alerts with no reported deaths or damage.
