A cluster of earthquakes struck the New Caledonia region within about 24 hours, including a magnitude 6.6 quake 80 km ENE of Tadine (the most significant), along with magnitude 5.4 and 5.3 quakes nearby. GDACS estimated only a few thousand people were within 100 km of the smaller events, and no casualties or damage have been reported. The sequence highlights ongoing seismic activity in the South Pacific region, though impacts so far appear limited.
