Despite the nominal ceasefire in place since October 2025, Israeli forces continued lethal operations in Gaza in late September 2026. An air strike on a displaced persons' tent in Gaza City's Sheikh Radwan neighborhood injured several people, while Israeli gunfire killed a child in Rafah's al-Mawasi area and a man in the Jabalia refugee camp; Israeli forces also arrested four farmers in the West Bank and wounded others, including a child, in a drone strike near Khan Younis. The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported seven deaths and 38 injuries in Gaza hospitals over a 48-hour period. Since the ceasefire began, Israel has killed 1,415 Palestinians and injured 4,953 in Gaza, part of a total of 74,016 killed and 175,068 injured since October 7, 2023—underscoring that violence has persisted despite the truce.
