CERN has started disconnecting and replacing key magnets in the Large Hadron Collider as part of its High-Luminosity upgrade. The new superconducting magnets will produce roughly 40% stronger fields, enabling tighter particle beam focusing and significantly more collisions for the ATLAS and CMS experiments once the collider resumes operation.
