Overnight on 25-26 September, Russian drones and falling debris struck multiple districts of Kyiv, including Solomianskyi and Obolonskyi, sparking fires in residential buildings, a shop, a warehouse, and a pre-school building. A drone strike on a business centre killed 29-year-old journalist Mariia Yizhvenko, who had recently left NV Business. The Darnytsia pharmaceutical plant was hit for the second time in a week, and strikes on data centres and infrastructure forced Ukrainian TV channels Novyny.LIVE and Armiia TV to suspend broadcasts, while internet provider Kolo.TV was attacked for a third time. Zelenskyy said the broader overnight wave of Russian attacks killed two people and injured 14 nationwide, damaging homes, schools, a university and energy facilities. A separate drone strike also hit a school in Kyiv Oblast's Vyshhorod district, though no children were harmed. The strikes underscore Russia's continued targeting of Ukrainian civilian and media infrastructure even as diplomatic efforts continue.
