Gonzalo transitioned from a tropical cyclone to a post-tropical system on Saturday night, with its convection separated from the center by strong wind shear near 50 kt. Located about 180 miles north of Sal, Cabo Verde, the system had sustained winds of about 40 mph and a central pressure of 1005 mb, prompting the National Hurricane Center to issue its final advisory. GDACS reported the storm affected Cape Verde with medium vulnerability, estimating about 419,000 people were exposed to tropical storm-force winds, though no category 1+ wind exposure was recorded.
