An experimental CRISPR-based therapy cut LDL cholesterol and triglycerides by about half in patients with difficult-to-treat lipid disorders after a single dose, with the highest dose lowering LDL by 52.5% and triglycerides by 47.8%. The effect persisted for a full year of follow-up. The results add to growing evidence that gene-editing treatments could offer durable, one-time solutions for chronic cardiovascular risk factors, potentially reducing reliance on daily medications.
