Tropical Depression Fay persisted as a weak, disorganized tropical cyclone in the central Atlantic, located about 1,170 miles west-southwest of the Azores as of Sept. 28, 2026, with maximum sustained winds of only about 30 mph and a central pressure of 1012 mb. The National Hurricane Center noted the storm has undergone repeated diurnal pulsating convection, allowing it to just barely maintain tropical cyclone status despite being weak, with no significant population impact reported by GDACS.
