Former Bethesda developer Kurt Kuhlmann claimed in recent comments that The Elder Scrolls has never received a Fallout: New Vegas-style spinoff developed by an outside studio because franchise director Todd Howard is 'very protective' of the IP. Kuhlmann, who worked on Elder Scrolls lore, made the remarks while discussing the franchise's development history and internal culture at Bethesda. In a related revelation, Kuhlmann also said he is '100% convinced' that a foundational piece of Elder Scrolls lore originated from a typo, offering fans new insight into how some of the series' most enduring mythology came to be.
