Qatar's Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a "war criminal" in an interview with Piers Morgan, saying "nothing is justifying" Israel's actions in Gaza and accusing Israel of undermining Doha's ceasefire mediation efforts from "day one." He said Qatar would continue its diplomatic role despite escalating regional tensions. Qatar separately told the UN in Geneva that Israeli actions in Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon and Syria constitute "grave violations of international law," continuing a sharp diplomatic rift between Doha and Jerusalem even as Qatar remains a key broker in the conflict.
