Overnight and into September 29, Russian forces struck Kyiv repeatedly with missiles (including Zircon/Oniks and Iskander-type ballistic missiles) and swarms of drones, hitting the Podilskyi, Holosiivskyi and Solomianskyi districts, a Kyiv-Pasazhyrskyi railway depot, Kyivstar's head office, data centers, an ATB supermarket warehouse in Brovary, and the National Academy of Sciences building. The attacks injured at least two dozen people, damaged residential buildings and an educational facility, and drew condemnation from French President Emmanuel Macron, who called the strikes on civilians 'barbaric.' Ukrainian officials, including Mayor Vitali Klitschko, reported fires across several districts and ongoing repair efforts, while bomb disposal teams neutralized two ballistic missile warheads that fell in residential areas without detonating. The wave of strikes was among the most intense yet in the ongoing Russian campaign against Ukrainian infrastructure and morale in the capital.
