Fay, formerly a tropical storm in the Atlantic, weakened into a post-tropical cyclone by 29 September 2026, with the National Hurricane Center issuing its final advisory on the system. At that time Fay was located about 1,590 miles west-southwest of the Azores, moving west-southwest at about 12 mph with winds near 30 mph and a minimum central pressure of 1011 mb. Forecasters said the low-level center was becoming poorly defined and convection was disorganized, marking the effective end of the storm.
