A powerful nor'easter — the first of the fall season — struck the US East Coast over the weekend of 26-27 September 2026, bringing heavy winds, rain, flooding and hazardous ocean conditions from North Carolina to New England. At least one person was killed and roughly 110,500 households remained without power in the storm's aftermath, with trees and power lines downed across multiple states. Forecasters estimated up to 40 million people across multiple states could be affected by the storm.
