NASA selected three new scientific investigations and payload suites to support its planned lunar outpost, Moon Base, and separately awarded Modulate Space Corporation a contract to develop 5G communications with built-in Wi-Fi 6 for the lunar surface. NASA also opened its 2027 Human Lander Challenge seeking student ideas for reliable lunar communications systems, and signed a joint agreement with Canadian and German space agencies to begin preparatory work on growing crops on the Moon.
