Ukraine's Prime Minister said Russia began its first massive combined attack on the country's energy infrastructure since the last heating season, striking 11 regions. Attacks damaged the Trypillia Thermal Power Plant in Kyiv Oblast, seven energy and industrial facilities in Zhytomyr Oblast, and caused dozens of Ukrzaliznytsia trains to run hours late. Kyiv and other areas were forced into scheduled and then emergency power outages for the first time this season as Ukrenergo managed grid strain. Analysts say Russia is evolving its tactics, deploying jet-powered drones fitted with warheads specifically designed to destroy high-voltage pylons, and using faster jet-powered drones to strike around the clock, wearing down Ukrainian air defenses even in daylight. Ukraine's Air Force said Russia is also upgrading drone components with higher-quality materials and mesh networking, making interception harder ahead of the coming cold season.
