The campaign for the Best International Feature Oscar gained momentum as countries finalized their submissions ahead of the October 1 deadline, including Cuba, Denmark, Vietnam, Italy, France and Pakistan (with documentary "Hanging by a Wire," a historic first for the country). Early contenders in the race include "La Bola Negra," "Fjord," and "Woman Unknown." The Oscars shortlist of 15 films will be revealed December 15, with nominations to follow, as Academy members begin reviewing the expanding field of international submissions.
