NASA's SpaceX Crew-13 mission launched Oct. 1, 2026 from Cape Canaveral's Space Launch Complex 40, carrying NASA astronauts Jessica Watkins and Luke Delaney, CSA astronaut Joshua Kutryk, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Sergey Teteryatnikov to the International Space Station. Watkins became the first Black woman to command a spaceflight mission, and the Dragon capsule made an unusually fast transit, reaching the ISS in under eight hours, among the quickest US trips on record. SpaceX also disclosed it performed a surgical-style technical intervention on the rocket or capsule before launch to clear the mission for flight. The mission underscores NASA's continued reliance on commercial partners for routine crew rotations to the station.
