Tesla introduced a new feature allowing drivers to exit and drive away from charging stations in emergencies, even while the vehicle is connected to a Supercharger. The feature was developed in response to a mass shooting at a Tesla Supercharger location in Twin Falls, Idaho in August 2026 that left seven people wounded and four dead.
