Navalny's Anti-Corruption Foundation proposed easing Western sanctions on Russia in exchange for repealing repressive laws used to prosecute anti-war speech and dropping politically motivated cases. The Kremlin, however, denied holding any such talks with US officials, with spokesman Dmitry Peskov claiming Russia has no political prisoners — a claim contradicted by human rights group Memorial, which lists 1,368 political prisoners.
