Following Microsoft's transfer of Halo development duties to Activision, a new report from Halo/Xbox insider Rebs Gaming suggests Activision is considering a full reboot of the sci-fi shooter franchise. A newly formed, purpose-built team within Call of Duty developer Sledgehammer Games is reportedly leading the effort, separate from existing Call of Duty teams. The proposed reboot would reportedly move away from the convoluted lore built up over Halo's 25-year history, offering a clean slate. Sources caution that plans remain in early, non-concrete stages, but the move marks a significant shift in stewardship for one of Xbox's flagship franchises.
