The final US and UK troops left Iraq as the coalition's anti-Islamic State mission formally ended, fulfilling a withdrawal deal agreed two years earlier and a long-standing demand of the Iraqi government. Iranian officials, including an IRGC adviser and the Quds Force commander, said the withdrawal showed US regional power was "not as portrayed" and that Washington faced a "humiliating situation" amid growing regional resistance.
