A 19-year-old Palestinian, Bahaa Sami Amin Nathsheh, was shot dead near the West Bank village of Kobar, north of Ramallah, amid a day of clashes; accounts conflict over whether Israeli settlers or soldiers fired the fatal shots, and Israeli forces reportedly blocked Palestinian medics from reaching the wounded. The killing coincided with settlers separately filmed attacking Palestinians and Israeli activists at the start of the olive harvest, with two homes belonging to the al-Tubasi family set on fire in another village and Israeli security forces also targeted by settlers. Six people were detained over the violence. The unrest comes as Palestinians in the West Bank face mounting pressure ahead of Israeli elections, including residents of Ras al-Ahmar reporting an Israeli barrier has cut off their water, animal feed and healthcare access. Analysts note that escalating settlement expansion, displacement and violence in the West Bank carry direct implications for neighbouring Jordan.
