Meta released open-source code allowing developers and hobbyists to build their own devices powered by its Muse AI assistant. The company suggested projects such as loading Muse onto e-ink displays for reminders, HDMI sticks for big-screen display, or small touchscreens resembling a DIY 'Muse Charm.' The move is part of Meta's push to embed Muse broadly across consumer electronics, from TVs to everyday appliances. The open-sourcing effort follows Meta's recent unveiling of Muse as a consumer-facing AI companion, and comes as rivals like OpenAI push competing agent products. By giving away the code, Meta hopes to accelerate adoption of Muse across third-party hardware ecosystems rather than limiting it to its own devices.
