A new study found that people who closely followed the MIND diet showed slower brain shrinkage and less grey matter loss over time, with the strongest effects equivalent to about 2.5 years of delayed brain aging. Berries and poultry were associated with healthier brain outcomes, while sweets and fried fast food correlated with greater tissue loss. The findings add to growing evidence linking diet quality to long-term cognitive health and neurodegeneration risk.
