At RuneFest 2026, Jagex announced RuneScape 4, a full MMO sequel that reportedly began life as an expansion to its survival game Dragonwilds, alongside RuneScape Reignited and plans for a fourth RuneScape MMO built on Unreal Engine. The studio also revealed an animated RuneScape adaptation involving streamer MoistCr1TiKaL. The announcements mark a major expansion of the long-running fantasy MMORPG franchise's future roadmap.
