A new suite of ultra-detailed simulations, part of the MEGATRON project, is modeling how the universe's first stars illuminated the early cosmos and seeded it with elements like carbon, oxygen, and iron. The simulations aim to bridge observations from the James Webb Space Telescope of the earliest galaxies with chemical signatures found in ancient stars today. Researchers say the work could help explain the chemical enrichment history of the universe and refine models of early galaxy formation.
