NASA's DAVINCI probe, designed to study Venus's deep atmosphere, underwent thermal testing in which engineers subjected its development unit to temperatures of 869°F (465°C) inside a ceramic-lined chamber to simulate the planet's harsh environment. The test is part of ongoing engineering validation ahead of the mission's eventual launch. The results help confirm the probe's ability to survive Venus's extreme conditions during its planned descent through the planet's atmosphere.
