A new study found that people who closely followed the MIND diet, which emphasizes foods like berries and poultry, showed slower brain shrinkage and less grey matter loss over time, with effects equivalent to about 2.5 years of delayed brain aging. Conversely, diets high in sweets and fried fast food were associated with greater brain tissue loss. The findings add to growing evidence linking dietary patterns to long-term cognitive health and could inform future nutritional guidance aimed at preventing age-related cognitive decline.
