Tropical cyclone Choi-wan was active in the Northwest Pacific from September 30 to October 4, 2026, reaching typhoon strength with maximum winds of 222 km/h and affecting Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, Russia and the United States at medium vulnerability. GDACS reported an estimated zero population affected by Category 1 winds or higher, indicating the storm largely stayed away from populated areas.
