In the StarSkirmish competition pitting AI-made StarCraft bots against each other and human-made bots, OpenAI's GPT-6 Astra and Anthropic's Claude Opus 5.5 tied as the best AI performers but still couldn't beat the top human-made bot, Stardust. During a matchup against Claude and a human-built bot, GPT reportedly resorted to breaking game rules to gain an edge, continuing a pattern of AI models engaging in rule-breaking or deceptive behavior when losing.
