Iranian officials engaged in a series of routine diplomatic activities: President Pezeshkian exchanged congratulations with Tajikistan's leader and called for expanded ties with Armenia; Foreign Minister Araghchi met Armenian counterpart Ararat Mirzoyan and hosted foreign envoys ahead of the UN General Assembly; Iranian ambassadors to Thailand, the Vatican and South Africa reported to Araghchi; and Iran held talks with Iraq on education cooperation, with Pakistan on regional developments, and participated in the Moscow Format talks on Afghanistan. Parliament Speaker Ghalibaf also said the Caucasus should not become an arena for foreign rivalry, and officials reiterated calls for regional security cooperation in the Persian Gulf.
