The centuries-old Hōlei sea arch in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, formed roughly 550 years ago by ocean erosion, has collapsed into the Pacific Ocean, the National Park Service confirmed on Friday, October 2, 2026. The roughly 90-foot landmark gave way following a stretch of rough storms battering the remote southern coastline in recent weeks.
