Two tropical cyclones were active in the Northwest Pacific in early October 2026. Typhoon Choi-wan-26, a hurricane/typhoon-strength system with winds up to 250 km/h, affected Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands between September 30 and October 6. Tropical Storm Koguma-26 was also active in the region from October 5-6 with peak winds of 204 km/h. GDACS notifications for both systems listed zero estimated population affected by category-1-strength winds, indicating no significant impact on populated areas was recorded.
