Tesla is expanding its Powershare Home Backup feature, previously limited to the Cybertruck, to allow some Model 3 and Model Y owners to use their EV's battery to power their homes during outages. The feature currently requires a Tesla Powerwall 3, with support for Powerwall 2 and Powerwall Plus said to be coming soon; rivals like Kia and GM already offer similar vehicle-to-home charging.
