Ukraine's "NC13" strike unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) unit, part of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade, has carried out more than 100 operations combining robotic vehicles with drones to strike Russian forces deep behind the front line. The tactic, first tested in January 2026, has evolved from an experiment into a proven combat system, according to the unit's commander. The approach reflects Ukraine's broader push to integrate unmanned systems across multiple domains to offset manpower shortages and extend strike range into Russian-held territory.
