Several moderate earthquakes were recorded in the past day with no significant damage reported: a magnitude 5.5 quake struck 92 km NNW of Aleneva, Alaska; a 4.7M quake hit the Kermadec Islands, New Zealand at 71 km depth; a 4.8M shallow quake struck Vanuatu; a 4.6M quake occurred in Russia at 109 km depth affecting few people; a 4.9M quake struck Indonesia at 80 km depth, with GDACS estimating 1.2 million people within 100 km; and a 4.7M quake hit near Korumburra, Australia. All were classified as green-level (minor) alerts by GDACS/USGS, with no reported deaths, injuries or significant impacts from any of the events.
