At a San Francisco keynote, Microsoft detailed a new generation of AI-centric Surface devices and Windows changes. The flagship Surface Laptop Ultra, powered by Nvidia's new RTX Spark Arm-based chip, starts at $2,599 and ships October 16, alongside other RTX Spark laptops from Dell, Lenovo, MSI, HP, and Asus priced up to $7,000. Microsoft also showed off expanded Copilot capabilities under a 'Hybrid Intelligence' strategy, giving the assistant access to local files and the ability to take actions across the operating system using a mix of local and cloud AI models. The event signals Microsoft's broader push to embed AI more deeply into consumer and professional computing, competing directly with high-end MacBook Pros on price and performance while expanding Copilot's reach into everyday PC tasks.
