Researchers at UC San Francisco developed a technique to create cancer-fighting CAR-T cells directly inside the body using a two-particle delivery system that sends CRISPR gene-editing tools and cancer-targeting DNA specifically into T cells. The approach could potentially bypass the slow, expensive process of extracting, engineering, and reinfusing a patient's immune cells.
