EU ambassadors agreed to the bloc's largest-ever expansion of sanctions against Russia, adding roughly 1,600–1,650 individuals and entities, including military contractors, linked to the war in Ukraine. The new listings, set for formal approval by EU foreign ministers on October 12, will bring the total number of sanctioned people and entities over the war to nearly 4,650.
