A Russian missile strike destroyed a block of flats in northern Ukraine, killing 19 people including five children who were killed while sleeping. The attack destroyed roughly 30 apartments and is among the deadliest recent strikes on residential areas in the ongoing war. The strike adds to mounting civilian casualties in the conflict and comes amid continuing US-brokered efforts to broker a peace settlement between Russia and Ukraine.
